I ordered brown stew chicken with rice and peas, but had to settle for plain rice because the rice and peas were not ready. Additionally, I did not receive the small salad that was supposed to come with my meal. The food turned out to be very poor quality - the brown stew lacked vegetables and was covered in tasteless oil, making me think they added extra oil to try to enhance the flavor. The chicken was tough and mostly bones, with small portions that barely filled the containers. The food had no seasoning and tasted like leftovers from the day before. It was definitely not fresh and certainly not worth the price of £13.50. It was so bad that I ended up throwing it away. I have been a customer of this restaurant for years, but this was by far the worst Caribbean takeaway I have ever had. They should have been honest and told me to come back when the food was freshly prepared instead of serving me old, unpleasant dishes. I will not be returning to waste my money here again. What a disappointment.
My family and I stopped by this restaurant for a casual dinner, and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the ackee and saltfish were. The service was exceptional, and the staff were able to quickly rectify a small issue with a fishbone by providing a complimentary marshmallow. It's rare to find a local, authentic jerk restaurant, but this place definitely fits the bill. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to London. - Sam
This restaurant is a hidden treasure. I'm typically hesitant about the quality and authenticity of Afro Caribbean restaurants, but this place exceeded my expectations. I tasted the Curry goat, jerk chicken, and peppered steak, all of which were delicious. The staff was extremely kind and friendly as well!
I’m am normally a fan of this establishment! However on the 18th March at approximately 7:45pm. I order two meals. Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat rice and peas. Sometimes I order 3 meals to eat later. I was very disappointed with the curried goat….. first issue was they put potatoes in the curried goat. This is not how it should be made! Jamaican when cooking may add potato because they don’t have enough meat in the pot. if you’re paying for food there shouldn’t be any potatoes in it! I hate potato. The sauce/grave was very watery. It’s like they added water to the sauce to make it stretch. Normally this is acceptable if your mother is cooking pot but it need to be cooked into the sauce. My family is Jamaican so I expect the food to taste the seasoning…. It was tasteless and watery. Needed more chillies. Finally the rice was okay as but I found some burnt bits in. I didn’t enjoy eating this meal! Let’s hope the Jerk Chicken taste better.
Clean and tidy establishment, serving fabulous authentic food with a smile. I had the Curry Goat with rice and peas, which was excellent, the most tender and succulent meat I've had in a long time.
