Tomoe - City of London,Westminster

We have been living in Putney for several years and have heard some positive feedback from friends about Tomoe, but we didn't have a chance to try it until last month. I decided to stop by for lunch and found the restaurant to be full. However, I asked if I could sit at the bar on the right-hand side next to the entrance, and the staff were very accommodating. I ended up ordering the same dish - the Prawn Tempura Bento - and it was just as delicious as the first time. The staff were accommodating once again, as I was running a bit late for their lunch service. The food quality really stands out, and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm in Japan (a country I hope to visit one day). I highly recommend trying Tomoe if you are in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will be back for more soon. Just make sure to check their limited opening hours before you go. Thank you, Tomoe, for a lovely lunch experience.

This restaurant in Putney is our favorite, and we have been visiting regularly since it opened almost ten years ago. Everything here is consistently authentic, which is a rare feat over such a long period of time. The bentos and set lunches are also good value for money. The only drawback is that the tempura batter can vary with each new chef, but the sushi master who oversees the restaurant ensures consistency in the kitchen. He also staffs Japanese waiters and cooks. Even after all these years, we feel lucky to have a truly Japanese restaurant so close to us.

The food at this restaurant is delicious and the service is excellent. I highly recommend trying the Sake taster as a great way to experience traditional Japanese drink.

We chanced upon this small neighbourhood restaurant because we stayed in the area. I love Japanese food, and tbis must be one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants outside Japan, from the decor to the Japanese speaking staff and the food, which clearly takes centre piece. Just look at the fish to rice ratio on the sushi and you know it...
