Food I got was blend (sushi platter).. the rice didn't even stick to the fish for my rolls.. my teenage daughter got a Korean bowl and it was the spiciest thing I ever tried so she couldn't eat it (would have been nice to know the spice level of the dish, especially for a kid).. we got stuff from the conveyor belt.. not great.. the one thing we really liked was the chocolate Moshi. This restaurant is located in a large mall. Bathrooms are not anywhere near (I had to walk to another floor through the mall to find a ladies room).. a good 4-5 min walk away from the restaurant. Order is all through your phone. The blonde lady who seemed to be in charge was friendly and welcoming. Too bad she disappeared after we sat down. Either way, we won't go back. Not a nice family outing due to the service or the food. Disappointing.
Very disappointed on our visit. Struggled with ordering process. Sushi was poor quality, warm sticky rice lack of taste. Only ordered 2 plates instead of 6 to eight . When it's on the conveyer belt you definitely buy more. Wine choice do you want white or red that's it. The white was appalling. The whole experience was a disaster. You don't deserve to be in Selfridges.
I have been coming here since it opened and it was always decent and could find something to eat and enjoy. My last visit was a disaster cold rolls and unpleasant atmosphere, unclean and under staffed had to send food back and ask for a refund as it's all pay in advance. Basically the food is prepared in advance and put in the fridge to be served maybe hours or a day later, the rice was overcooked. Never again till maybe they improve.
Food is average, the things that disappointed me the most is the lack of attentive customer service which I find quite common in UK, as you can see in the pic, I asked for some bowls to eat shared dishes and to my surprise, they brought out massive dirty bowls that still had the stain of left over food . They don’t understand that at Japanese restaurant they don’t use massive bowls like that, and also the cooks are mostly Indian whom I don’t think have much understanding about Japanese food . We ordered 6 dishes and they brought out 5 dishes and when I asked for the missing one; they brought out the wrong dish. Quite disappointing Japanese dining experience in UK. Wouldn’t recommend anyone for this.
Incredible selection of Asian delights, premium price but dined in a central London location. The app ordering, conveyer belt delivery system and watching the chefs prepare the fresh food make a novel meal experience. Look forward to trying other locations. On the occasion I dined unfortunately the conveyor belt wasn’t used to it’s potential (the chefs handed the food directly to me) which reduced my expectation of the full experience.
