When I went to Cuse we would come here every Wednesday for Flip Night (the bartenders flip a coin and if you call it in the air, your beer is $1). And I was so happy to see it's exactly the same years after. If you're going here for food and a chill time, I would just recommend picking your timing carefully. The college kids also love this bar so it could get rowdy if it's late or a game day. I LOVE the nachos here.
Faegan 's is the standard for older visitors to the SU campus. Over the years, they 've evolved from a beer bar for seniors to a pub that offers elevated food (the poutine rocks) as well as a great craft beer selection. Also a fine offering of whiskeys and scotch. When I visit campus, I 'll sit at the bar, chat up the bartenders, watch sports, have some great food and conversation with strangers. It has a very authentic Irish pub feel. Late night on weekends the music gets a little crazy loud but could just be the last time I was there. Either way, they have my business when I am on campus. Get there early on game day for the great bloodies!
This is a classic spot to pregame SU basketball games. Good drinks and quick service. Very loud, so prepare. They have a simple food menu. The food is sub par. Nachos were soggy and lacking. I expect more out of the poutine. The cheese curds were hard and cold. They could do better.
Fun Irish pub in a college town. Plays a classic rock 'n ' roll soundtrack never playing a bad song. Tons of fun on game day!
Good place for drink friendly fast service even when busy before an DU basketball game. That's the stars. Lack of stars is the handful of precooked nachos served slightly warm with soggy chips $6 and 4 precooked chicken tenders rendered dry from standing under a heat lamp that barely keeps them warm. No flavor to the tenders served with a small cup of dipping sauce $7. Go to drink skip the food.
