Good surprises never come alone, so I was happy to see that they charge $30 for cubierto, which is basically a tax you owe to the restaurant when you sit at her table. There is no actual service / food /item in connection with it, it is just an automatic fee. Yay Then to make the night perfect, they told me they don't accept MasterCard. Bad and expensive food with absurd extra fees, they did my night.
I wanted a quick meal and didn't feel like huge meat dishes, so I tried this restaurant that was almost empty. Normally a bad sign, I must say it was 20.15h, which means too early for Argentina. The waiter was friendly, but... didn't invent speed and efficiency. The Margarita was pretty good, and the Fajitas, good, average. I found the Prive Level OK but not cheap. Would I be back? Yeah, why not.
After walking through the river Puerto Madero landed in this place. When we found it on Saturday at 2 a.m., we were pretty hungry and happy to go past restaurants and just get one. Probably should have gone somewhere else. Felt bad for the guard when he tried to manage all 10 outdoor tables, but unnecessary to say the service took a while. My wife and I shared the Fajitas, and while the cost was for 2, the amount of food and its quality lived up to the price. Seeing many other places on the river, we would have done much better.
Yesterday here (Recoletta) hoping to taste a good authentic Mexican food. I guess our first note should have been the music that was a mix of soul English and instrumental. Don't set the right atmosphere! We ordered the guacamole and chips and for...main chicken and Veg Fajitas. The chips were from a package and too salty. Guacamole wasn't fresh either. The Fajitas went too cold, so it was clear from a package and warmed up. It seemed the only thing that was made fresh were rice and vegetables. If I pay $529, maybe I went to McDonald's on the street to get a more satisfactory meal! At least you know what you will get! Excuse me for a Mexican restaurant. A positive. The waitress who served us was nice and attentive.
We went on a Sunday, arriving at 2pm for lunch. We decided ti sit inside... Outside we could see an empty table where the service hadn 't been picked up, black with unhealthy looking pigeons eating from the plates. Only three tables were occupied by customers....Our server arrived to work after we had sat, so we had to wait for him. We asked for some nachos and tacos... Nothing to die for. After 40 minutes after we had finished eating, the server came to take the plates away. We asked for the bill... Another 20 minutes and we went to pay directly to the cashier. The server, his helper and the cashier were having a friendly chat which they couldn´t interrupt. Still, only three occupied tables. Inside the room there was a sparrow and there was another bird in the restroom. We spent two hours and a half to have a quick lunch My advice: unless you feel need some kind of mistreatment, don´t go even if you are starving! In Buenos Aires there are other fabulous Mexican restaurants
