I am grateful for the opportunity to enjoy some delicious food in the near future. However, as I was preparing to leave, a customer and the waitress engaged in a conversation about gender-neutral pronouns. The waitress's ignorance and bigotry were apparent, souring my Easter Sunday experience. Unfortunately, this type of intolerance is not uncommon in this city. Discrimination and prejudice seem to be prevalent, even among the waitstaff.
This was my final breakfast in Claremore on a Sunday. I had recently moved here and was looking forward to a quiet meal with average food. The dining experience was just as I had expected - nothing exceptional, but nothing terrible either. However, what stood out were the people. As I was preparing to leave, the waitress and some customers began a conversation about gender-neutral individuals who use pronouns like "x" and "y," discussing how these people must have had a difficult childhood and would struggle with their identity, etc. Unfortunately, this type of conversation seems common in many restaurants here, with both employees and customers participating. The one thing I definitely won't miss is the bigotry and hate that I experienced at Eggberts in Claremore - it left a bad taste in my mouth.
The food was good and the atmosphere was fantastic. However, one of the employees brought his two daughters who were very poorly behaved. They were loud and rough while their mother sat on her phone, occasionally yelling at them. It seemed as though the children were the ones in charge. Many customers left because of the disruptive behavior. To make matters worse, the mother proceeded to yell profanities over the entire restaurant while on a phone call. It was a trashy and unpleasant experience for the customers, and they did not even apologize or offer to pay for it.
The food was delicious and the waitresses are all so human and helpful. coffee was kept hot and tasty. go towards the location in bartlesville and hope they are just as great.
