Thai Eatdustry - Clarence

A party of 6 of us went to the Thai Eatdustry last Saturday night. The same party of six but with one additional person (7 in all) also went there five weeks ago. This speaks volumes for the Thai Eatdustry in that we all went back there again so soon.Like most Asian restaurants, you would'nt 'write home' about the decor! Very stark with too much lighting, as usual.However, the food is lovely! Typical Thai food but food that says 'fresh'! We had the usual Thai Green Curry Chicken, Masserman Beef, Garlic and Pepper Fish Curry etc etc. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the little Thai girl really looked after us and it was nice that she recognized us from the previous visit.The food was hot and tasty, the wait was minimal and the prices were very reasonable. This is a BYO and licensed restaurant and the corkage is just $2 per bottle.All in all, a very pleasant night with good food and good friends. We will no doubt go again but maybe not quite so quickly this next time.

Booked for a mid week meal with friends. The staff were friendly and efficient. It was a cold night and the restaurant was warm, even though the was plenty of take away activity. We all enjoyed our meals. The duck was tender with a very tasty sauce. The pork and ginger was tasty and you could taste the ginger, but it was not overwhelming. We were the last to leave, but we not hurried out of the restaurant. It's nice to have a BYO close to home.

I rang and ordered a takeaway and was advised that there would be approximately an hour wait, not a problem as I wasn't in a hurry but when I got there to pick up my meal which came to $17.50 I pulled out my debit card and was told "we don't take card payments for purchases under $20" You have got to be kidding! I told her I had no cash which is not uncommon these days and was told it would cost $1.00 to use my card!! This is absolutely disgraceful, it doesn't cost anywhere near that much to process a transaction and I consider that a money grabbing rip off!! Thankfully the new credit card surcharge laws come into place in September 2017 which only allows a business to charge a surcharge for what it costs them, which in my case would be 10c.

Meals are really nice. Food quality excellent. Menu range is reasonable without being huge. Value for money is great with realistic pricing and a good amount of yummy food provided. We've eaten their food as takeaway as well as eat in. Their eat in section is basic, and limited, however as being BYO it allows you to bring in the wine/beer etc that you want; again a money saver that way.Overall, I think these guys do a good job and having a fresh Thai eatery in suburban Howrah is certainly a welcome thing
