Prickly Pear - Cleburne

The service here is fantastic, and the owner makes it a point to check in on every table. The fried mushrooms are crunchy and delicious, almost like chips! The chicken fried steak is decent, but not exceptional. The mac and cheese is tasty, the okra is good, and the mashed potatoes are satisfying as well. However, the standout dish isn't even on the menu—the chili is a must-try, so be sure to ask about it as it's not always available. The jalapeño cornbread is incredibly good and has a nice sweetness to it. Additionally, the hot and buttery yeast rolls are also excellent.

The table service was very friendly, and the portions were generous at reasonable prices. However, the burger was a bit dry and could have benefited from fries. The unisex restrooms were clean.

The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was both cozy and clean. The staff provided excellent service. This has become my new favorite dining spot.

We went here on the basis of high reviews and were not disappointed! Great food, great service and frendily people! Chicken Fried Steak and potatoes mashed reminded me of Western Cafe' in Cloudcroft NM and Homplate Diner in Lubbock. Do yourself a favor and stop in...soon!
