Le 1513 - ClermontFerrand

My wife and I had lunch here today. The food (we had galettes and crêpes), and the service of the food, was OK. The problem occurred when we paid for the meal. I offered my credit card which was put into the card machine. When the machine was handed to me to enter my PIN, I saw that the amount to be paid had been converted to pounds Sterling. Now, I have seen this before and I know that you get a bad rate of exchange if you agree to pay in your own currency. So I told the waitress that I wished to pay in Euros. She refused saying that it was management policy to accept payment only in the foreign currency for foreign credit (and presumably debit) cards. Now, I have never encountered this type of policy before. On previous occasions when I have been asked to pay in pounds Sterling, and I have refused saying that I wish to pay in Euros instead, the amount has always been changed to Euros without any question. This is the first time ever that I have not been allowed to pay in Euros. I'm not sure whether this legal or not, and I will be checking with my bank (credit card supplier). In the end, I paid cash, but I was not at all happy with the experience. If I discover that the restaurant was not legally entitled to demand that I pay in pounds Sterling, or that it contravened its agreement with the credit card company by doing so, I will be issuing a formal complaint.

Les serveurs débordés ne sont jamais affables. Le plafond bas et le manque d'air produisent une ambiance étouffante. Les galettes n'ont rien d'authentique ni de spécial, vous feriez bien mieux chez vous. Par contre, le lieu vaut le déplacement, pour l'architecture, la courette intérieure, la petite terrasse isolée, éventuellement.

Très bon resto caché au fond d'un petit passage en pierre, au bout duquel se trouve une terrasse agréable et au calme. Nous avons dîné à l'intérieur. La déco est très belle et le service nickel mais nous sommes arrivés assez tôt (19h30), c'était limite avant qu'il n'y ai plus de place, mieux vaut réserver ! Les crêpes sont bonnes et très copieuses, et la truffade servie avec de la salade et du jambon de pays est délicieuse ! Les prix restent corrects. Bonne adresse sur Clermont !

Les galettes sont copieuses et excellentes. J'ai dégusté la cantalouse avec un supplément de champignons, un pur régal. Ensuite, j'ai mangé une crêpe amarena délicieuse. Le rapport qualité/prix est excellent. Je recommande chaleureusement!

Accès surprenant, porte cochère suivie d'un couloir sombre... pour ce restaurant ou le cadre (petites salles voûtées, décoration judicieuse, terrasse intérieure....) s'allie à une carte variée dont le rapport qualité prix est très correct.Entre la crêpe myrtille flambée et le café pousser la curiosité de ces petites salles très sympa....à voir.
