Contribuisci feedbackA wonderful surprise, Serendipity! The doors were closed and the corridors were right, there were hardly any activities and no people. The little message said '1864'. It was just curiosity that forced me to pull the brass handle that I was safely locked. The employees in Schwarz were in individual groups. They all looked up, the 7 intelligent faces looked so surprised when I opened the door. There was a break and then a polite good evening came, sir, I answered if they were open. Nice to welcome you was the entertaining answer. The decor was most impressively placed with a selection of Anoli Perera's artwork. the manager Chaminda Priyankara Perera was impressive with his knowledge of wine and drink. he invited me to be lemon peel marinated gin and orange infused Vodka BUT thought to get strawberries in Campari to be exotic. Sahan, the gentle giant, insisted to show me the unfounded cellar. Nabeel also expressed his knowledge of wine and how well everyone should accompany a certain meal. his simple explanation of how the wine of Dide buenhancement improved was beautiful. Priyankara tells me that the Michelin Star Level 2 restaurant is, as confirmed by the boss, Bjorn Van Horst Ber, who is a Michelin star level 2. I'm still trying to taste the food.
Amazing fine tuning restaurant next to the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo. Quiet place, with a unique colonial interior. It was recently changed with a modern decor inside. At the entrance is the bar area that leads to the dining area, with some private dining areas that are fed to the side. The food is served as à la carté or you can choose a meal (input menu) consisting of 7 courses. Amazing food! Very delicious. Good selection also available. We could also taste their unique sorbets that were the best! Drinks were very good, we were offered our selection of cocktails or cocktails if necessary. The staff was very polite, helpful and accredited to all needs. Very well informed about the menu and drinks as well. It's on the expensive side, but it's worth the money. Very recommended.
Fine food is rare in Colombo, the owners have created an impressive Western style menu with mostly local ingredients. We tried the $70 tasting menu per head) and were blown away with the different dishes and the combination of flavors while we still held a Sri Lanka twist on it. The service is absolutely perfect, a great thank you to the whole team there. In the bar area there were also live music. It is an expensive place where our bill is similar to London, but once in a while it is worth it!
Bland and unsatisfactory. Since our first time was good (if it had opened a new year before or so), we visited again this weekend. Try the tasting menu and the food was well below average, very disappointed. My Jumbo prawn was COMPLETELY RAW and terrible, along with our lamb in the middle cold. The desserts were crazy and actually unusable. While the waiters were friendly, they are not really trained for the fine dining service. The heavy price tags for food service are not worth. Hopefully they work on their food to fit their beautiful interior!
Very mediocre food, nothing great to be honest. Service was friendly but very slow
