Even though we continued to spend, she thought the bar would be a better place for us than our table). Guess it had to do with the dining limit. Glad we gave it one more try. It was the warm, welcoming place we were used to. Of course, the food was great as usual. Thanks to Stephanie and Miranda for an all around great dining experience. Already looking forward to our next visit.
The appetizers are incredible— the pecorino cheese was unique and delicious, and the arancini and veal meatball were also so much fun to eat. The main dish we ordered struggled to impress (chicken marsala was very, very salty).
Without question still our favorite happy hour experience in the short north. So fun to bring our Cali daughter as well. As a server in a high end restaurant in Beverly Hills, she was very impressed with the staff and the overall ambience. Our server, Lydia, was exceptional, thoughtful and timed our plates perfectly. Per usual, we ordered way too much food, but they box everything so nicely it makes for easy re-heating for leftovers.
This is a Cameron Mitchell's restaurant and it just didn't feel authentic like a Scalis out East. The appetizers were solid, but the main meals kinda just missed the mark slightly. The rating feels like a 3.95 when you consider everything. Overall good ambience and service, but the food was sorta not a gotta have again without trying other places first.
We went before 6 so we were under happy hour pricing. The value was great for the affected items. All of the appetizers and featured cocktails were 1/2 price. The cocktails were very well prepared and delicious. These included the Milan Manhattan, The Calabrian Margarita. For the appetizers, the Meatball and the Melted Cheese Appetizer were excellent. The Calamari, however, was rubbery. Our dinner was somewhat disappointing. The Chicken Parmesan was dry and not tender. The Braised Beef Tortellini was good but the portion was very small. The Fettucine with Meatball was great. The Salmon was good but nothing special. The value not is 5 stars because of the small portion of the Tortellini. Messing up Chicken Parmesan at what is presenting itself as a high end Italian Restaurant is inexcusable. The desserts were great. I had been there a few times before for Happy Hour and enjoyed it. It's the best deal in Columbus. I would return for Happy Hour but be reluctant to return for dinner.
