The food was very good the service was excellent. Due to the dreaded virus, masks are required there is no ordering at the tables. Walk in, order at the bar, find a table your meal is brought to you. I picked the patty melt with tots with lemonade the Mrs ordered a bacon cheeseburger with tots a ****** Mary. She said the veggies on her burger were fresh crisp. Overall, she really liked her meal the drink was ..fantastic.. She liked the different garnish placed in them. A pickled green bean in the first a asparagus in the other. Plus the green olives, lime lemon. My patty melt was great. Buttery, toasted rye bread, a juicy burger with Swiss cheese grilled onions. Hot tasty. Heather was a great waitress bartender. Friendly chatty, she did a bang up job. We really enjoyed our stop.
This place was a kick in the pants to watch a football game. Reasonable prices, decent food, and friendly staff. Hardly haute cuisine....just a nice neighborhood bar.
Aweful food hamburger wascold and undercooked frys were greasy over cooked and tasted like fish or what ever was deep fried in fryer. I guess if your over served and drunk it doesnt matter.
I have been a regular at Goonies for a couple of years now. They make strong drinks and their bar eats are the best (particularly the hog wings basket). A little crowded/loud on Thurs and Fri as these are their karaoke nights. It 's also a little hard to get a song in unless you get there right at the start of the night (10pm). Weds are VERY noisy because of Jam Night, but worth it to hear local players jam together.
As those who hail from Oregon 's own Bay Area (aka North Bend/Coos Bay), there is a dearth of good bars. Well, really, there is a dearth of anything entertaining for young people. I mean, you go through high school camping or having bonfires at the beach with lots of beer and other booze, but once you 're old enough to publicly drink, you don 't have many options. But, the towns are a great place to visit if you like your bars seedy. Goonies is a smoke filled sports bar that is packed during holidays when all the college kids and graduates return home to visit the family. And, of course, holiday stress drives everyone to a bar, and Goonies is really the perfect place to meet up with acquaintances and friends from high school see who got knocked up, who 's married, who got a boob job, who got hot...Drinks are fine, nothing spectacular, but it 's the atmosphere that makes this place worth a visit. Don 't wear anything you have to dry clean because you 'll reek like an ashtray by the end of the night! Play pool or air hockey in between gossiping with friends; even if you 're not from the area, it 's a generally young crowd. Of course, I can 't speak for non holiday times of the year I did go one evening on a random visit home and walked into the middle of a shuffle board tournament where the clientele was upwards of 50...
