I found myself at a 5-star hotel restaurant, waiting for my wife to finish her company party. After driving her 2.5 hours in the afternoon, I had a late-night assignment to bring her home later that same night. Wanting some food before a long night ahead, I went to the restaurant. Despite feeling out of place amongst well-dressed patrons in my jeans and Christmas jumper, the incredibly friendly staff greeted me warmly and seated me. My server, Jelmer, explained the typical course options which included drinks and desserts, far beyond what I intended to spend. Feeling like I didn't belong, I almost left, apologizing for my misunderstanding. I feared I was making a fool of myself. However, Jelmer reassured me and helped me navigate the menu to accommodate my plant-based diet. With his attentive service, along with the rest of the staff like Davar, I felt at ease and relaxed. The delicious bread and dips were followed by the FINEST vegetables and chips I had ever tasted, all in generous portions. The wonderful staff, including the kind lady who found me a table at short notice, made me feel welcomed and comfortable. This unexpected and pleasant experience at the Manor restaurant in Cork is one I highly recommend to anyone seeking a classy, friendly, and relaxed dining experience. I cannot praise this restaurant and the hotel enough. I and my wife had a nice dinner tonight. I had steak, while my wife had hunch, the appetizers of plastered pears in ham, plus blackpudding deep roasted omg so good. then beautiful sweets and tee to finish the meal. it was a nice experience, personal top class, helpful and friendly, professional in there jobs. will definitely be back and I am happy to recommend this beautiful hotel friends. the price was worth it, for attention and beautiful meal. Eating was below average for a star hotel. the taste was simply not right, especially the risotto. it was over boiled and the oyster mushroom got a very strong acid taste. it wasn't gone, but the way it was seasoned wasn't right. I just ate a quarter. the beetroot healed laughs again the picked was very upset. I like sour taste, but it was just too much. the presentation was boring, except the dessert part. the employees were friendly, but many inexperienced/trained employees and I don't see any superior/manager around. great decorations and atmosphere, but very disappointed by the quality.
