Sam's Family Pub - Cornwall

This restaurant is top-notch when it comes to both food and service. The staff is very welcoming and is perfect for families. The scallop dinner was outstanding and everyone in our family loved their meals. Overall, it is a fantastic restaurant.

I recently brought my family to Sam's in Cornwall. The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed, not overly formal. They offer a delicious mix of Canadian and Lebanese dishes. I strongly suggest trying their pizza, which is generous with toppings and bursting with flavor. The portions are generous and the service was top-notch.

We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was poor - my wife received a large bowl of chowder instead of the cup she ordered, and I was given fries with my Cheeseburger Platter instead of the Caesar’s salad I requested. The server never came back to our table, so I had to go to the drink counter to get a refill of my iced tea. The food quality was also lacking - the cheeseburger was barely warm and the bun was soggy, while the Caesar’s salad was full of brown and wilted lettuce. The chowder was very watery. We chose this restaurant because it was ranked #1 in Cornwall, but it seems like the competition must be pretty weak.

There were a large number of selections to choose from, so I decided to go with one of the daily specials … a lobster roll. When my order arrived, the fries were there but the server had completely forgotten the lobster roll. Ten minutes later I was good to go. Lobster was tasty, the roll not so much, … dry and hard. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my meal. Good budget, pub style food. All Covid restrictions were in place. Friendly, pleasant server.

Expectations were so high but it was disappointing. Recommend as a quality place to go for quality home cooked food but not really. Soups were just mediocre. Not much fish in the seafood chowder. Chicken soup was good. Grilled ham and cheese sandwich was greasy but ok. The fish and chips didn’t live up to expectations.
