Great pasties and other baked goods. Popped in to St Austell to pick up some authentic Cornish pasties. Yummy! Really fresh and delicious.
My uncle took me here to get Steak Cornish Pasties and I had to try their jam doughnuts. The jam doughnuts were one of the best I have ever tasted. The pasties were lovely too. 3 pasties and 3 doughnuts £10.15
Stopped in St Austell for a snack while on our way back from the Eden Project. Admittedly it was late in the afternoon, and the place couldn't have been far from closing but we like to try local cafes when we can instead of the samey multinational concerns which have their place. the pastries, cakes and pasties on the counter looked inviting so we decided to give the café upstairs a try. It was in the middle of having a makeover with wet paint notices everywhere and a guy clearing up his materials, so it was watch that coat! Perhaps that's why there was nobody there? Anyway, we both had hot homemade mince pies and clotted cream with tea. Service was quick, and the pies were lovely. We did however feel a little exposed and a member of staff was counting the till which rightly or wrongly gave us the impression we were holding them up! By the time we went back downstairs the display had almost been cleared. I did say we were there quite late! Wouldn't deter me from trying the palce again but I'd go earlier next time!
Popped in here while walking around the town and we were so pleased we did. We had a beautiful cream tea for two 4.95 for two people. The staff were so friendly and all the food served to other tables looked superb.
