The Towan Blystra

We visited the Towan Blystra twice for what we thought may be a cheap meal and a few decent drinks. The pub itself was rammed full with persons of all kinds from the very lairy drunk to the elderly couple wanting something cheap to eat. We used the app to order our food and drinks which arrived surprisingly quite quickly. The food itself was plentiful and reasonable in looks and taste. We happened to sit near the bar watching the staff work on the second occasion and to be fair the staff work very hard and seem to work in unison taking it in turns to serve drinks at the bar or serve food etc. With the amount of food leaving the bar area we were massively impressed. Well done to the staff. The only gripe we have is the quality of some of the people that drink in there. They need bouncers here but we didn't see any. Don't forget Wetherspoons-this is a quality holiday resort. Please be a bit more choosy on the door to prevent some of the drunken idiots from frequenting it which may scare genuine holiday makers off.

Went to Towan Blystra twice while we were in Newquay and both times had a great meal. It was not over busy so found a table very easily ordered fish and chips and chicken melt the first time and we both had steak and chips the next day. Both steaks were cooked to the way we like them. Service by the staff was very good at the bar and of the food. The whole area was clean and tidy.

The place was quite busy. I had ham eggs and chips and my oartner had the steak and kidney pud. Both were very good. We had a mini dessert each Brownie and cookie dough sandwich. Very nice. Service was good

Visited this bar each night of our 4night break as a last stop on way back to our hotel. The cheapest place for drinks in Newquay. We had some interesting chats with the friendly locals and bar staff.

We went for breakfast,now I know it’s cheap but that is no excuse for the awful food we were served,cold toast,cold baked beans and the bacon didn’t even look like it had seen any heat at all,the place is filthy.
