The food was superb right down to the unexpected but beautiful handmade chocolates at the end. Lovely cosy setting, too. Thank you!
Recently stayed here on business whilst exhibiting at the NEC, this hotel is in desperate need of refurbishing, hard beds, mould on the bathroom ceiling, cracked tiles etc.bathroom door kicked in, tv smaller than a pc monitor and rubbish reception, dated furniture, restaurant food mediocre who ever came up with twice cooked chips isn’t much of a chef, breakfast bit naff, I will say it was clean, we won’t be returning
Visited for a meal while passing as we haven’t dined here for years. I’ve got to say the food was lovely but there’s things that just need attention. The look the owner is going for needs to be improved. The decorative mirrors in the restaurant are just traps for bacteria to live in, someone has tried wiping them over but left smears all over them. The wall panelling…although very on trend has not been wiped/dusted for some time and the Matt finish paintwork looks nice but not when there’s dried splashes of liquid all down the walls. The light fittings have wires hanging out the walls and most of them are either broke or put on wonkey. Silly things like seeing bits of sellotape stuck on the walls from previous restaurant celebrations that have just been left there for weeks/months maybe even years. It just looks like it’s been renovated on a cheap budget trying to get an expensive look. A massive issue I had was the staff not wearing uniforms. They were all wearing black but one had white Nike trainers on with jeans another had Converse trainers with leggings. If your serving an Ala Carté menu surely you’d want your staff to look presentable, it’s not a big ask for your staff to be wearing smart black trousers, sensible black shoes, a white shirt and then you could provide the staff with a branded apron. This place could be so much better but maybe the owner has eyes elsewhere or isn’t seeing the potential the place has or just an awful eye for detail! I must say compliments to the kitchen, the food was beautiful and the service wasn’t bad at all just needs improving.
Booked a table for an evening meal as we were staying in the hotel for trade at the NEC. The staff here went above and beyond to meet our needs. I mentioned that I couldnt wait to have a cold pint after a long day on my feet at the show. The staff then put glasses in the fridge for me to ensure my pint was the best, and it was! They had a great selection of beer, local brands and some more standard brands. Food was excellent and seasonal freshly made in house. The waitress was very knowledgeable and told me they source all the meat from a local farm and some of the veg was grown on the grounds. A very quality meal and service that was willing to go above and beyond.
Would highly recommend!!! Amazing food and great atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and very welcoming. We had a great night and will be back
