The High Hat Cafe - Cozumel

I first went to this restaurant many years ago with my mother and we had an excellent time, great food, great service. However, recently, my husband and I went back and it was like hipsters took over, made portions smaller and prices higher. The restaurant was very nice looking, trendy, but the food and service were just not that great. Food, came out warm not hot, catfish was over cooked and very small peices. Comfort food! The okra and tomato side is my favorite. I crave the oyster and fennel soup!!

I visited with a group of four and we all ordered something different. The conversation at the table was “you have to taste this”. Everything was so delicious. I have never tasted anything quite like the sweet potato salad and the braised greens were to die for. Every dish with their pimento cheese was so savory and good. We were visiting New Orleans for a week and this was one of our favorite meals. That's really saying something.
