Taverna Vasilis - crete

This lovely restaurant is located on the beach in Agia Pelagia. It is family-owned and the staff are incredibly friendly. It was one of the highlights of our vacation.

This family-run tavern has been passed down through three generations. The easygoing and witty banter between the two brothers and their cousin is fantastic. They make a genuine effort to connect with each customer and ensure that their dining experience feels like a celebration, even though the food speaks for itself. A friendly greeting and a heartfelt goodbye make diners eager to return. We celebrated our 5th anniversary here and highly recommend making reservations in advance as they fill up quickly!

This charming little tavern, owned by a family, has a friendly staff and a rich history. The food was delightful, particularly the roasted anchovies. The beachside atmosphere in the evening is quite lovely, although the interior decor is no longer traditionally Greek. I highly recommend this hidden gem!

Great experience. the tavern has been operated by the same family since its opening in 1982. they tend to feel welcome and be appreciated with ease and good service and with everyone laughing at the tables. the service is perfect, but eating is even better. from all the restaurants I have eaten in kreta, this is the only one that has made me that this is real Greek eating is great portions, tasty, and with lots of eating out their part they gave us many appetizers from the house and they will give them gloomy out of the house. a great experience

I love this wonderful taverna! I took a wrong turn and ended here and what a perfect lunch! family owned and the food and service was 200% plus the intention was also great!
