It turned out to be our least favourite food in Crete. The vegetarian souvlaki came without any sauce and reminded more of some kind of school food. We got some raki and dessert (first they bought us non-vegan desserts and had to tell them again that it should be vegan) in the end. Ok place to go but there are better restaurants to try in Heraklion.
My wife had the fried zucchini Patties and she was highly satisfied. The slightly sharp sauce and the Pita bread were also great. I had the grilled vegetables with rice. The rice was very aromatic and the vegetables at the spit had a great smoke aroma! The cocktails are also mega
Nice vegetarian meals that can be turned into vegan meals. We had an excellent vegetable souvlaki. Also the service was very friendly.
The staff at Amilias kitchen is amongst the nicest and most helpfull ive ever encountered and I eat out, alot. The menu has a small section dedicated to both vegans and vegetarians but the staff is more than happy to use vegan friendly ingredients where possible to accomidate wishes of other, non vegan dishes from the menu. Some of the dishes include, lental salat with bread and guacamolo, quinoa salat with fried beets, green salat, stir fried vegetables, mouzaka etc. As I where ordering for the 3'rd time in two days, the waiter told me they also used to make vegan mousaka but didnt anymore. I asked if they would buy the neccessary ingredients and prepare it for me for dinner the next day and without hesitation she said ofc. Even though they are not a vegan restaurant, they deserve to be mentioned as they provide a great service to vegans.
Beautiful location, among the trees of the square. be warned that the birds are very loud, but they are quiet when the sun goes down. Vegan and vegetarian options are clear on the menu, some starters and a few pornstars. no vegan desserts. service is friendly and eating comes very fast, with the disadvantage that the rice in the dolmades warns quite ready. the mains are served with rice and brot, brot can contain milk, butter or egg, since all vegetarian pornstars are characterized as such and not as vegan. as with many restaurants in Greece, a bread plate with tapenade is served, a dessert and a little licqueur after the meal, on the house. we did not like the licqueuer here. 2 starters, 2 nets, a glass red whip and a margarita €40.5.
