This restaurant is essentially a glass case in the courtyard of the Larco museum in Cusco. We went there because it was close to our hotel and we were told it was a neat place. We were somewhat disappointed. The menu is three items- you choose a starter, entrée and dessert from a list of choices. Nothing has the price on it and we did not ask figuring it would be consistent with other places. The food was okay - not the best we had in Peru but adequate though quite forgettable. The shock was that the bill was over 400 sols with only a small half bottle of wine. We found this out of line in comparison to other meals we enjoyed in our two weeks in Peru. it seemed a lot to pay for a fairly ordinary meal. The service was friendly and pleasant. Once you get over the fact you are eating in a glass case, the surroundings are actually not much and the space quite boring, though I am sure the museum itself is outstanding (We toured the Larco museum in Lima and it is worth the visit).
Originally we planned to have lunch here, but after the large breakfast at hotel monasterio. I liked the open setting of the all glass surroundings that gave a nice view of the courtyard. The food was an inspired presentation of Peruvian classics and other local cuisine in a modern style. The Alpaca was very good, the mushroom soup very tasty and dessert nice. The wine list was very reasonable and the service, provided by Gareth, was very good. All in all a very nice meal in a city that has some excellent food.
