Bread was stale. Potato salad and slaw was good. Baked beans were strained (maybe because it was all in our bag? and flavorless. I really wanted to like it based on the great reviews but was left wanting more.
I'm sure the burger place next door is good, but skip the wait and try some awesome BBQ. I had the brisket sandwich and it was excellent.
The food was so good but get there early or some things sold out!! Great place!!!
Unassuming family run BBQ spot in Custer, SD. So glad we stopped in on our way through. The couple running the place had so much pride in their recipes and made sure we got some of the best St. Louis Style BBQ ribs I?ve ever had. Great potato salad and baked beans as well. They make their own sauces in house too, both we tasted were delicious. This is a must-do if you find yourself in Custer.
My wife and I were on vacation and near Custer, SD and we went into Dakota BBQ about 6 PM after a second trip through the Wilderness Trail and finally saw some Bison. So cool! This is a take-out BBQ place and they were sold out of everything except pulled pork and coleslaw. Lucky for me, I am a huge pulled pork fan. I got a medium order, a little pricey, but it was good! He gave us two fantastic rolls. I made an open faced sandwich at a nearby lake and I used the other roll for a great breakfast sandwich, my wife made the next morning. I wanted baked beans, but they were out, but I finished the medium order at our improvised picnic with a Colorado Dale's Pale Ale 16 oz can we got from the grocery store across the street. Really nice guy behind the counter, but I would have liked baked beans. My wife had some spiced pretzel sticks, which were really good though. Great smoked pulled pork!
