The Crown Tuns Puddingface, The Pie Place

We enjoyed a last-minute meal after the Easter Bunny Hunt with the grandkids. It was a lovely Sunday lunch with friendly service. Thank you!

We have passed by this pub numerous times, but this time we decided to stop in for Sunday lunch, and the food was outstanding! Everything was cooked and prepared to perfection, and it was complemented by a nice pint. Give it a try; you won't regret it, and I would definitely go back again!

Upon entering, the ambiance was delightful, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. However, I found the prices for the food portions to be quite absurd. I ordered the special, which was described as Japanese chicken for £10, assuming it would come with chips or rice. Instead, I received just seven small pieces of breaded chicken that resembled nuggets, with no sides at all. For my mother, I ordered steak frites, which consisted of a very small piece of steak and a meager serving of fries. The dough balls we had as a starter were dry and also very small in portion. My grandmother ordered pie and mash, which she enjoyed. In the end, the total for all of this, plus a cup of tea for each of us, came to £57. I am truly disappointed, as I only consumed two tiny dough balls and seven chicken nuggets! This outing was supposed to be a treat for my family, and now I feel like I’ve wasted so much money.

Fantastic pub, the staff were so friendly and were very happy to put up with a visit from the Bicester Hash House harriers on a busy Sunday. Very delicious Sunday nut roast too. Thank you Crown Tuns

This used to be an amazing pie place with so many different types of pie on offer. Revisited recently, but management had changed. There was still tasty pie on offer, but it was nothing like before. Pie itself was great, but the veggie and sides were bland. Small portion and the veg was just boiled!
