Abyssinia - Denver

We arrived at the restaurant quite late when it was already technically closed. Most places would have turned us away at that time, but the owner here was so kind that she prepared fresh injera and served us a delicious meal. It was a heartwarming display of kindness and restored my faith in humanity. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant again.

This is one of the top Mediterranean restaurants in Denver. The lunch lamb shawarma plate is both generous and delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly and everything was full of flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive. I requested to swap the tzatziki sauce for toum and they happily did so at no extra charge. The prices were also very reasonable.

The food at this restaurant is incredible and the portion sizes are generous. However, I was let down by the use of plastic water bottles and styrofoam containers. If the tap water isn't high quality, they should consider using a faucet-attached water filter instead.

VERY generous portion! They didn't give salad to start with unlike all the other ethiopian places I have been to but I would rather have more food than the salad. Would definitely visit again.

First time trying Ethiopian. The food was delicious and there were many vegetarian options. I had the vegetable combination with five samplers: Gomen, Yemisir Wot, Fosolia Green Beans, Kik Alicha and Atkilt Wot served on a bed of Injera. The server was very friendly and patiently explained all the dishes. The decorations, including furniture made out of straw and traditional artwork, transformed the ambience into a more authentic and wholesome Ethiopian dining experience.
