The staff was polite, but they seemed a bit overwhelmed, making it challenging to get their attention at times, as the place was quite busy. However, the happy hour deal was a great price for some upscale seafood and cocktails. The food arrived promptly, and you could really taste the freshness of the oysters! I would definitely return!
Oh My Oysters!!! This restaurant serves some of the best broiled oysters I've had in a long time. I also tried the lobster gnocchi and a classic Caesar salad. We visited on a quieter day (Easter Sunday), and both the service and the food were excellent.
**Detailed Review:** I’ve been searching for a good Italian restaurant for quite some time, but my previous attempts have mostly ended in disappointment. So, when my wife suggested this place, I did my best to keep my expectations in check. The exterior doesn’t really catch the eye, parking is tight, and it’s easy to overlook, but those aspects don’t weigh heavily in my evaluation. Inside, the decor has a classic charm, unpretentious and reminiscent of a local spot. Although I’ve never been to Italy, I could sense the atmosphere they were aiming for. We chose to sit outside to avoid the wait. The staff was friendly and attentive, striking a nice balance of being present without making us feel rushed—they checked on us multiple times. Now, onto the food: Everything we tried was fantastic, with generous portions served in a timely manner. We loved dipping our breadsticks in each dish. - **Burrata:** Incredible! I couldn’t get enough of it; I could eat it daily. The balsamic vinegar accompanying it was the best I've ever tasted. - **Oysters:** We tried both the chipotle and the original flavors. Both were delicious, but we preferred the original. - **Mussels:** Very good, prepared in a white wine sauce that had great depth of flavor without the wine being overpowering. - **Lobster Gnocchi:** Delicious! The sauce paired excellently with the breadsticks. The gnocchi were enjoyable, though they could have been a bit fluffier. - **Tiramisu:** Delightful! The dessert was not overly sweet like many American versions. In conclusion, I was thoroughly pleased with the entire experience. The food was outstanding, and I’m excited to return. I’m happy to add this excellent Italian-American restaurant to my list of favorites.
I haven 't been to Angelo 's Taverna for many, many years and decided to head there today when my girlfriend told me that she was craving Italian. Before going into the food and service aspect of our experience, I just want to point out real quick that the Yelp wait times do not seem to be accurate here for some reason (maybe they don 't update them? . The Yelp wait time stated 0 minute wait but we ended up having to wait about an hour for a table for 2. The food 's quality has not changed at all since the last time I went there. Everything we got was amazing (please refer to pictures attached . The chargrilled oysters and burrata in particular were our favorites. For the oysters, I would highly recommend the original and bacon and gorgonzola flavors. The chipotle one was underwhelming. The burrata comes with 4 'sauces or dips ' that all taste great. Ian was our server and was phenomenal at his job. He was very pleasant and took care of us perfectly. I would highly recommend coming here sometime for some awesome Italian food!
My boyfriend and I decided to go to Angelo's Taverna for dinner last night, and I was very impressed. Service was excellent and all staff were very friendly and attentive (shout out to our waitress, Mari, I couldn't have asked for better service), the food was delicious, the atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxed, the prices were reasonable, and we did not have to wait long at all for our food to be served. We ordered Angelo's Bruschetta as an appetizer and I probably could've eaten the whole thing by myself because it tasted amazing. My boyfriend was very happy with the Grilled Chicken Alfredo that he ordered (dish at the top of the picture) and I was beyond satisfied with the Grilled Salmon and Risotto that I ordered (dish at the bottom of the picture). I couldn't have asked for a better dinner to end our vacation to Denver. 10/10 would recommend!
