It is one of the oldest Mexican restaurants still in operation in Denver, and the food consistently impresses. There’s nothing fancy about it—just reliably delicious, affordable Mexican cuisine. My personal favorite has always been the Hamburger Steak, which consists of two smash-burger style patties smothered in green chili, served with rice and beans. I always add sides of fried onions and cheese, and I’ve never been disappointed. Their carnita plate, tacos al carbon, chili rellenos, and basic bean burritos are also excellent choices. And of course, don’t forget to order a pitcher of the house margaritas!
The chips and salsa were served as soon as we sat down, but we didn't see our server for about 10 minutes. When she finally came over, I politely requested some margaritas first. The margarita was tasty and a great deal at just $5 during happy hour! I ordered an a la carte taco, but the shell was quite moist and started to fall apart immediately. The chicken tostada was a bit bland, but the salsa was fantastic and made up for it. My friend ordered a combo meal and said it was pretty good as well.
The meat was delicious, quick and exceptional service, nice ambiance…
I love Las Delicias uptown! It's delicious and consistently good. I get the nachos and I love them! Also, try their margs because the are strong and so flavourful.
Food was ok, if you're looking for good Mexican food for better prices, I'd recommend La Pasadita Inn nearby. Only went here because it was Sunday and La Pasadita was closed.
