Ordered Patxi 's last night for takeout. This is one of my favorite pizza spots in town, especially if you like deep dish! We usually do dine-in but takeout has been our thing since Covid. The quality is still just as good, always fresh upon pickup, and just as tasty once you get home! We ordered the Matt Cain (aka Classic Meat). This is a classic meat-lovers pie, and is perfectly balanced with gooey cheese, pepperoni, garlic fennel sausage, and lots of sauce on top! The crust is always buttery and crispy, the sauce is sweet and full of spices, and the meat is hearty and filling. It holds well for leftovers too, just pop it into the oven! I give the pizza 5-stars, it never disappoints. The reason I am giving 4-stars is because the woman who was handling pickup orders was noticeably overwhelmed, frustrated, unfriendly, and it was even more noticeable when I came in to grab my pizza. She even started to vent to me a little bit which I thought was unprofessional. It 's great that their spot is so busy on a Saturday night with dine-in and takeout orders, but to her it was clearly a burden. She made me feel like my order was just added stress to her shift. I 'm sure she made other customers feel the same... Otherwise, a top quality pizza joint and a must for deep dish pizza lovers.
I ordered for delivery last week. The sausage roll I ordered was very tasty and for sure want it again. The dipping sauce had a very slight spice to it and was good. I think marinara would be nice, but this red pepper sauce was a nice twist. Sadly, the pizza was not what I ordered. The pizza had mushrooms on it, that I did not order, and no cheese, which I did order. However, the pepperoni, sauce, and crust were delicious. I could imagine why their pizza has garnered such high praise. I was just disappointed because I only get pizza a couple times a year as a treat, but I do think I will try them again. I reached out to the restaurant to let them know of the pizza mistake and no word so far. The mix up of my order and no response from the restaurant is why I took a star away.
At last, a restaurant that caters to individuals with food allergies, vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters looking for delicious food. Not to mention, the service was fantastic! Caitlin, our server, was attentive to my allergies and our orders, and very friendly. I will definitely dine here again when I visit Denver in the future. Actually, I may even return during this trip! The gluten-free vegan pizza was excellent, and the Greek salad (with feta on the side for my meat-eating husband) was fresh and tasty.
I previously wrote a 5 star review, and on my second visit was so extremely disappointed that I changed it to a 1 star review. I arrived in the restaurant shortly after 7:50pm. I grabbed a menu at the host stand on this 5/18/2021. While looking over the menu for a couple minutes, a young male employee greeted me and asked if I was going to be dining in. I shared that I preferred to get an order Togo. He then said, the kitchen is closed, we are unable to make your Togo order. The restaurant closed at 8pm, it was now 7:55pm. I responded with, would you have served me if I was going to have dined in? And he let me know that he would not have. I said, then why when you came up to me, you asked if I was going to dine in? I asked him if he in the moment realized what time it was. He said he knew what time it was and would not admit to any negligence of communication on his part. It was very little and petty, but it really bothered me to observe this young man not accept any accountability on his part. And it seemed to bring him joy that I was not going to be able to get any service. While I was trying to make a point to him, he asked me if I wanted to speak to the manager. I shared that I would enjoy to do so and a few moments later, Matt made his way out to talk with me. While speaking with Matt, the young man kept coming around the two of us and provoked me further. Matt had to verbally warn the young man to stay away. I found myself getting more and more frustrated by the situation. At this point, Matt offered for myself to speak with his supervisor and come in the next day and get free items. It was never about that. It was about the disrespect that never should have been given on behalf of the company from this young man. It 's to the point where I could never come back again. Most people might brush off the rude behavior of someone about to be off the clock, but I am not one of those people on this particular day. There should never be an acceptable opportunity for the staff to act rudely and unprofessional towards a guest. Highly disappointed with my second experience. More attention should be aimed at friendly customer service.
