It's widely known that their calamari is some of the best in the city, but they have great entrees, salads, soups and desserts as well. We recommend going during happy hour to save a few bucks on drinks. The locations is great in the Bonnie Brae neighborhood.
Why go here when there are many good places in this area? 730 sucks.
I have been visiting the Seven 30 South restaurant (also known as Bonnie Brae Bistro) for lunch for many years. However, I have seen a decline in both the food and service quality over the past few years. During my last visit, the service was unacceptable. Our waiter was impolite, inattentive, and argumentative, so I had to ask the manager to assign another server to our table. When the food finally arrived, the manager came to inquire about our satisfaction. I mentioned that I had ordered crispy french fries, but was served soggy ones instead. Surprisingly, the manager asked if I wanted them to be crispy. I reiterated my initial order, requesting crispy fries. When we received the check, it was carelessly thrown onto the table by a passing waiter. Upon further investigation, I found out that the restaurant had been taken over by a corporation five years ago, around the time I began noticing the decline in quality. The charming, high-quality restaurant I once admired has now been replaced with mediocre food, indifferent management, and a lackluster wait staff.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. I recently tried their brunch menu for the first time and was impressed by their delicious green chile and wide variety of Mexican breakfast options. I had never thought to try Mexican cuisine here before, but I'm so glad I did. My go-to lunch choices are now their Smoked Salmon salad and the wedge salad.
The restaurant has a good location and the servers were friendly, but the food was very flavorless. It was not appetizing and was overpriced.
