Norms - Downey

I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. Norms has been my go-to spot for years and has always been reliable. I traveled a long distance to visit some friends, and this is where they wanted to eat. I was excited to visit again. We all sat together, looked at the menus, and quickly decided what we wanted. Our server was friendly and took our order promptly. As we chatted, our food arrived and we were eager to eat. My plate looked good, but when I started cutting into my country fried steak, it seemed like I had to saw through it. I didn't want to make a scene, so I ate what I could, but clearly my meal was subpar. When we finished, my friend noticed how much I had left on my plate. She discreetly informed our server after I had paid the bill. The server seemed concerned when I settled up with the manager, who simply told me to give them another chance next time. I don't think I'll be making the long drive again for this restaurant. I hope my friends enjoyed their meal, as I forgot to ask them.

I haven't been to this restaurant in a while, but today our server was Austin J. I remembered him from previous visits and knew he was a seasoned veteran here. I felt honored to be served by him. I ordered the grilled salmon fillet and it was delicious. What I appreciate about this place is the cozy, family atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and positive during my visits. Would I come back? Even though I don't dine here often, I would definitely return and recommend it to others.

Typically, this restaurant meets our expectations. We usually receive great service and our food is served at the table in less than 15 minutes, even on busy days. However, today was an exception. My soda was flat and barely had any syrup, and the waitress never checked on us. We waited almost an hour for our food, but it never arrived. Other tables around us were served faster, even though they arrived after us. In the end, we left when our children couldn't wait any longer, and opted for McDonald's instead.

It was a decent experience. The food and service was not bad this time around. Although there was nobody to greet me at the entrance and to inform me I needed to sign in as I stood and waited at the counter for quite awhile, everything else was ok.

Very bad service went in at 10 pm and was rudely told they were closed when the sign on the door says they close at 11pm. So we came to Denny’s down the street.
