Nice restaurant. Very polite staff. Ordered a starter which was very nice and tasty. Ordered steaks for our main meal one with a peppercorn sauce. Big mistake it was so strong it killed all the other flavours All I could taste was pepper. Completely...ruined our meal.
Sunday Lunch wow menu could have been written in the seventies.... Starters..Soup, Prawn cocktail, Melon, Garlic mushrooms, Bruscheta. Main roast beef pork Salmon in parsley sauce, Stroganoff or veg options mac n cheese or nut roast Dessert Jam sponge, cheesecake or brownie. Feel like...I'm back in seventies again Bruscheta lacking in flavour...Beef tastes like it was bought in ready cooked, veg minimal and not pleasant roast spuds soft no crispness at all. Possibly the least appetising Sunday lunch I have endured in a long time. Sorry used to love it when Craig was on board.
The last time we ate here was November used to be the place we always ate and drank in Driffield as there are so few options especially for vegetarians. We stopped going as the menu and the chief changed and the food...was bland, tired and; in a word “sad”. of us went back last night and were genuinely keen for the food to be good. It was better than that it was brilliant- what a change. We ordered dishes from the small bites menu and a burger. Whereas before the prawns were old and tired these were fresh, full of vibrant chilli and wonderful feta. The humous was lovely and served with flat breads, mussels in a wine and cream sauce were so tasty. The salad bowl full of sun dried tomatoes and even my veg medley was well cooked and full of flavour. The house red has always been great value and we will be back to enjoy a bottle or when we finish Dry January. Yes it was a quiet Tuesday in town but the waitress were kind and efficient and friendly and just nice. Honestly Driffield has so few places to eat these days Forty One you have won back some very happy customers. Kylie and team deserve the towns custom. Thank you and see you soon. Jules
We came here with friends for an impromptu catch up. Having been for drinks, we had not been for dinner before and were surprised by the menu. I opted for the chorizo and bean stew to start with, and my husband the beef in tomato...sauce. We followed this with mixed grill(him) and souvlaki for me. Even managed to squeeze in a dessert: posset for me a d a trio of ice cream for him. Yummy food and nice atmosphere. Will be back to try out more!
