Nalan - Dubai

A few days ago I got a couple of dishes from Nalan to take away. It took some time to place the order, because even though they're fully vegetarian, it's not so easy to figure out which dishes are vegan. Clear labeling is definitely something they can improve in. Staff was friendly, but didn't have a good grasp of what veganism is. After a couple of queries we finally established what's vegan and what isn't. I took the samosas and three different curries with rice. Everything tasted good, I'd rate it 3,5/5. However, there was nothing special or exciting about it. Decent food, but nothing more than that. Overall fair prices.

Walked by here before, first time trying! Good idea. Came for breakfast so tried their Set Menu for 30 dhs. Good value as was completely full. All was very fresh and a great balance of flavors. The waiter was very helpful in explaining the different items, and recommended way. He was laughing (nicely) at me for using my fork on all, though I know this is typically eaten mostly by hand. Personal idiosyncrasy! A good experience, I do recommend and will return.
