Excellent food. Very crowded and service was leisurely . Half of our family stayed for the music and said it was absolutely fabulous.
The oldest pub in Dublin…how could you miss it?! The food and the service are good and who can pass up a pint at such a historic location?
Oldest pub was quite fun. We didn’t give ourselves much time, but the staff was very accommodating. We got a little table for 2, ordered a Guinness and Fish Chips, both were good. We got our check quickly and still had plenty of time to chat with our neighbors and snap some photos.
Our family really enjoyed hanging out in this lovely old pub. It was busy, so I would recommend eating early to snag a table. We weren't able to get a table outside, but the patio dining looks terrific if you can manage it. Service was friendly and quick (considering that the place was quite full and the portions were generous. Food was traditional pub fare, but it was nice to have the option of a vegetarian pie for us non-meat eaters. It was excellent. This may not actually be Ireland's oldest pub (that's Sean's Bar in Athlone! but it is a very cool spot for a meal while in Dublin.
