What does it take to find a decent steak in Dublin? I once tried Marco Get Over Yourself White (yes, I was starving and perhaps not in the best frame of mind), and I regret to say it was shockingly bad—pretty sure they just fried an old bike seat in butter and tried to pass it off as a steak. And don’t even get me started on the wine. Anyway, I’m giving this place 3 stars because I'm not ready to dismiss it entirely—just the ribeye steak. Please, learn how to cook a steak! Stop focusing on a long list of sauces; any serious steak lover doesn’t care about that! It’s all about the quality of the meat and how it’s seasoned. It shouldn’t be that difficult!
Starting with the tomato fondue, the sourdough bread was excessively soggy. The fondue itself tasted like a simple tomato sauce, which only made the bread more soggy. On the brighter side, the guacamole was fresh, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly, and the breakfast potatoes were well-seasoned and flavorful. Both this dish and the gambas benedict (stay tuned for that) had a lovely presentation. The prawns in the gambas benedict were sweet and cooked wonderfully, but unfortunately, the entire dish was cold. Even the English muffin was cold, soft, and far from toasted—a real disappointment for brunch. The spinach bed was also cold, while the eggs and hollandaise sauce were satisfactory. Overall, I’m giving it 3 stars for the reasonable prices, a delightful complimentary bellini, attentive and friendly service, and food that, while edible, was not particularly impressive. I don’t think I’ll be returning, since there are so many wonderful brunch spots out there, and this one feels like a tourist trap.
This cozy little restaurant, located just off the city center, has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service is friendly and efficient. I ordered the 30 oz Porterhouse steak, and since I had skipped lunch and completed an intense workout, I was more than ready for it. The steak was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, exceeding my expectations in both quality and flavor. The red wine reduction and pepper sauce were both fantastic, and the ruby slaw was also very tasty. For dessert, the crème brûlée was beautifully caramelized and included blueberries, making for a delightful finish to the meal. Overall, this is an exceptional place for a great dinner.
I highly recommend the Norwegian eggs benedict— the salmon was incredibly flavorful, and the eggs were cooked just right. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation for Sunday brunch, but it became quite busy as we dined. I suggest calling ahead or making a reservation!
This place offers an exceptional brunch experience. The only downside is that it's become quite popular, making it challenging to get a table. I’ve visited several times just for brunch, and I plan to return to try their dinner menu, as if it rivals their brunch, this could easily become one of my favorite restaurants. I usually opt for the breakfast, accompanied by a side of hollandaise (because whoever turned butter into a rich sauce deserves major accolades). Their breakfast is undoubtedly one of the best in the city. I've sampled most items on the brunch menu (except for the waffles, which have always been sold out when I tried to order them). Most dishes are delicious and impressive, but the chicken wings are rather average. As a chicken wing enthusiast, it’s disappointing to see a place that excels in other areas fall short with wings. I hope that someday they’ll elevate their game and offer some genuinely tasty buffalo wings. Just writing this review has me craving another one of their breakfasts!
