My favorite crafts are usually either Hoppy IPAs or creamy stouts (with occasional acid or Scotch-Ale thrown for variety). But on the beach? Give me a six of light to the house, as the only time that such beer really really hits the point. Cycling on the beach is different from a cocktail or a craft beer is welcome. My brother really wanted to try some local brews and is a sucker for a flight. He missed my trip to the local Lost River Tavern/Brewery (what rules) but we stayed near Growlers to Go and he had made his mind to try it all week. We each tried a flight of beer, everyone we tried was good. I remained mostly IPAs brewed in NC, and everything was good. Pours for flights are like 4 ounces (x5) for less than $10. Pints are CHEAP. Growler, pints, cans or bottles go at very fair prices. Super friendly service. A small but decent selection of high-quality cigars. There are no outside seats and inside seats are spicy, although there is a bar where you can stand. If you're a beer lover, but not a place to camp and talk for a long time.
The first time here. Only on holiday in the city. Probably the best little hidden jewel I could find. If you like craft beer, skip the breweries this place has everything. ABC Alcohols has nothing in this place in NC. Excellent service and very friendly staff. More than 40 different beers on Hahn. Everything organized by an OCD master (easily understand and find what you want. Also a variety of cans to go, cigars and wines.
This week visited several times. Great people. Great beer choice. Nice little cigar engraving too. Visit them when you are in town. You will not be disappointed!
Craft Brew Heaven. They offer over 42 taps, vary between selection of acidic, bright ales, IPAs, stouts and more- all locally at the NC or VA range. Bonus! They had a completely different selection board than their sister store Growlers-to-Go Kitty Hawk, yay try more beer! You can drink a glass on site or buy one of their different plastic growers to go in pints, 32oz, or 64oz. They also offer a wide range of non-cooled beer packs - in addition to several cooled single cans for purchase bonus! When you create a complete sixpack, they offer a $1.50 discount on the package. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable about beer. It was great to chat with them as they made recommendations while offering mini sample tasting. We made two flights per $9 for four 5oz beers). This was a wonderful place to explore the local craft beer scene! We drove back the next night to pour the full pint meeting another really friendly staff, enjoy a local brew together!
This is the kind of establishment where a beer aficionado behind the counter is needed. I told him what beers I like and he directed to what I should try. After a few samples it was obvious which beers were coming home with me. The selection is excellent and I really like that they have a strong focus on local brews. Besides the tap beers they have a great selection of cans and bottles from all over the place. Overall, if you like beer, you need to stop here.
