Now I went back end March 2022 and the restaurant has changed and is now specialized as Italian food. I had tagliatelle al funghi with red wine from Sicilia. I was nice and service was good. I still recommend it because it is very nice, pleasant, good with nice people.
Düdingen is nothing to write home about. However, it is home to Gasthof Zum Ochsen a traditional restaurant offering excellent food and great service. I sat in the upscale ‘’Salle à Manger’’ which boasts a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. A huge thumbs up to the lady owner and her team for the friendly and smiling service throughout the dinner. As I visited in September, the menu included many game and venison dishes. My dinner began with tasty homemade duck rillettes as amuse bouche. As starter I had the deer carpaccio served with truffles and gruyère: delicate and excellent portion. As main course I chose the deer filet mignon served with all the trimmings truly a highlight as it was very tender and came out as a generous portion! As sweet I indulged myself with a chestnut mousse served with cherry sorbet. On the downside Switzerland has always had a high price structure, and Ochsen is no exception. The bill amounted to CHF111 definitely not to everyone’s budget, but the excellent food and service are well worth it.
Great service, homely atmosphere, great value for money. Very tasty food. The inn is highly recommended, always happy.
Is recommended. Very tasty food, but it also has its price. Very good hospitality.
