Oak and Carriage Neighbourhood Pub

Food is always good. Pub food, nothing fancy but well put together and tasty. Service has been really good lately. You can generally catch big sports events here, and the new non smoking patio is lovely for lunch or an early dinner. There is also a smoking patio if you are looking for one. No minors - so far as we could tell. Liquor store next door. No pretense, just an honest average neighborhood pub done well. Oh, and awesome IPA on tap :)

Had the fish and chips and terrible is the only way to explain it! Customer service not much better. Server did a food check and we told her it was bad! Her answer "Oh yeah it looks burnt" Then walked away! We saw her tell the manager and he looked at us, shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Will not eat there again.

Good basic pub food. Nothing fancy. Had a really nice soup, totally decent burgers. Good drink specials. The outside is nicer than the inside: inside is overly bright, lots of tvs. They put in a patio and have a big covered smoking area too, if that's your thing. The service was slow, the only waitress on shift seemed overwhelmed, but if you've got the time and are looking for a casual, adult oriented meal, or beer, the Oak would meet your needs.

Dined here with a group today and the place was empty at noon. Menu has the typical pub food of Burgers and Sandwiches. Burgers were ok but the soup was bland and So was the beef dip. Definitely can use more flavour.

Oh right, I go back for the music bingo on Friday nights with friends sometimes, otherwise, don't bother. Don't go expecting good service. Arrive with my wife, got a table, and ordered a pop (I was DD), and we waited over 20 minutes, and had to ask a second passing waitress if we could perhaps, place a food and drinks order. When it finally arrived, the bun was soggy on my food, the sauce tasted old, and the fries were cold. The straw my wife had, had to be replaced, since it tasted like they used it to mix the spices then put it in her drink.Marginal service the entire night. My table could have spent more money on drinks, if we were asked more then once for the entire 2 hours we were there.Ended up winning a gift certificate through music bingo, towards the meal, and the waitress had no clue what it was or how to use it. Good training.Also, we know it can get busy, so we tried to call ahead throughout morning to make reservations, three times, and no one answered.Pros? The bartender/owner looks like the bartender/owner from Shaun of The Dead...But that is about it.
