Everything is freshly made delicious. my favorite is the chicken ziki pita, the best in the city! good work.
For a place called saigon sub disappointed this Vietnamese sub restaurant on some flats. initially it is not very clean, perhaps because it is also quite busy with a lunchtime amount. while they call themselves saigon subs, they also try to sell donairs...together with traditional Vietnamese pho (soups) and Vermicelli dishes. because the name implies that they specialize in Vietnamese bunh mi (subs), I ordered the spicy beef sub. all meat is precooked, so when a certain meat is ordered, it is then thrown onto the grill and heated. when my sub arrived, the bungalow was roasted and the usual sweetness that was in a Vietnamese sub there (except for gurke). it looked like the sub was just getting together. the biggest shock/desappointment, was that the bark that used it in the sub was fed only donair meat. they do not disturb to grill cut bark like any other Vietnamese restaurant, but find it easier to replace bark with donair meat. not very Vietnamese! Moreover, there were not much flesh in the inner. overall this meal was a disappointment. if my sub was made with so little thought, authenticity or quality, then I am not sure how the rest of the menu would be. this place seems only a very bad imitation of a real Vietnamese restaurant. Maybe it doesn’t play a role as they seem to have a big client, especially from high school students with “easy to please” standards. the prices were reasonable.
Always receive a welcoming hello (very friendly staff), the subs are the perfect amount of everything! great food and great service. Maybe a little overpriced for the portions given (only for the subs).
Travelling through and wanted a quick sit down meal. I ordered the Pho while my wife had the Chicken Pita. The broth very good and the beef very tender and the portion size adequate but not large. The Pita also was enjoyed. Not formal dining...nor large seating capacity but the pho makes the business worth visiting again.
