Main Street Bbq - Durant

We have been eating a lot of BBQ in the past 2 weeks, and in comparison, this restaurant did not meet our expectations. There are limited choices in this town, so perhaps other reviews are based on what is available here. The ribs still had the membrane on them, but the meat was moist. The rub they used did not enhance the flavor much. The brisket was chewy and lacked seasoning. Overall, we were disappointed with the meal. The pineapple sausage was the standout dish, with a great balance of savory and sweet flavors. The beans were average, just regular pintos. I was hoping for more seasoning and sauce on the baked beans at a BBQ restaurant. The potato salad was too heavy on mustard for my liking, falling somewhere between a traditional potato salad and a mustard potato salad that wouldn't appeal to either fan. However, the service for our takeout order was excellent. The young lady at the counter was friendly and efficient.

On a recent trip to Durant I took the opportunity to eat at Main Street BBQ and it was excellent. I had the sliced brisket, potato salad and BBQ beans. Everything was great. The meat was very tender and had a nice smokey flavor. I tried the hot sauce and it also was very good. It was a tad hot but not bad. The wait staff was very nice and friendly. I will return on my next Durant trip. The only issue will be what to order next time
