Lupa Osteria Westville - Durban

I really like this brand and have never had any problems with the food or service, so it was an easy choice for me to visit. However, I was not impressed with the entrance; I walked up the stairs and noticed two waiters nearby who just watched me until I started to wander around. When I finally received attention, our table seemed to be passed around from one waiter to another. By the time we ordered wine, we were on our third server! The service throughout the night was lacking, but thankfully, I had great company. On the plus side, the food was good, and we didn’t have to wait long for it. Would I come back? Maybe… I might consider it due to the location, the restaurant’s ambiance, and my fondness for the brand.

I've visited Lupa locations in Westville, Kloof, and Umhlanga, and I have never been disappointed. The Westville location, in particular, tends to fill up quickly, even on weekdays. Both the wood-fired 'Hot Chick' and the Pollo Arrestos were cooked to perfection, and the meals arrived promptly despite the restaurant's busy atmosphere. The wait staff and management were attentive throughout my visit. Add in their famous and delicious gelato, along with some complimentary Limoncello shots, and you've got a fantastic dining experience.

I had a team lunch at this restaurant, and they accommodated all our requirements as we had discussed via email. We had to send the preselected menu to the management in advance. However, the steaks served were minute-sized, which were a bit too small for my colleagues. The waitstaff seemed a bit overwhelmed due to the large number of customers but remained very friendly and welcoming to our team. I particularly enjoyed the creamy chicken pasta—it was fantastic! Overall, I loved the experience and will definitely return!

I’ve always had a great time at Lupa. Great service, great wine and great food. Cannot complain at all. I’ve been multiple times and I’ve never had a bad experience. Well done Lupa!

Had a lovely time with the family here and really enjoyed the food as well! The staff was great and never to far away to refill our drinks. One slight criticism would be the loudness and having to really speak up when trying to share conversation, being that this is the sign of a full house and success makes it not all bad. Loved the decor and theme, too.
