Our top choices are the Aztec burrito and the choriqueso. The house red salsa is delightful—smooth in texture and not spicy, with a refreshing, tomato-forward flavor.
As a vegan/vegetarian, I was thrilled to discover this restaurant through DoorDash. The food tastes authentically Mexican, and they have excellent options for those who don’t eat meat. The burrito I had was impressive not just because of its size, but especially because of the quality of the ingredients—vastly better than Chipotle or Zambrero. It was loaded with spinach, mushrooms, sweet bell peppers, zucchini, and broccoli. When they say vegan/vegetarian, they really deliver; it was a mouthwatering experience that felt like a little slice of heaven. You should definitely give them a try—you can thank me later! Trust me, you won't be disappointed. P.S. The image below shows how enormous the burrito is; it took up the entire pan!
I don't even care—this place serves some of the best food I've ever had, whether it's Mexican, Japanese, French, or anything else. It's just incredible. The Azteca burrito is exceptionally flavorful and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of char on the steak and chorizo. The braised beef cheek soup is fantastically prepared and comes with a generous portion of beets for only $3.95. Although my experience is purely based on the food (since I haven't had any interaction with the service), I absolutely love this place!
Simply some of the best Mexican food in the city. amazing prices for the amount of food they get, it is enough for me for three days, but it is enough food for a couple. comes with delicious tortillas, crispy chips and delicious salsa! edit: oct 2022 I had her elote and it was amazing!
One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area, and honestly one of the best lunch options in all of Durham. This city has a lot of great food but it can be pricey even in the face of record setting inflation, Michoacán continues to be a proud exception. The prices are extremely affordable, the portion sizes are tremendous, and the food is simply delicious. Don’t take my word for it each lunch hour, the place is packed full of construction workers; and if that’s not an indicator of hidden gems, I don’t know what is. I highly recommend this place!
