Taberna Tapas - Durham

Patrick is the best server and bartender in the Triangle! The food was outstanding as well. If you enjoy spicy flavors, you must try the Diablo sauce with the wings. The shrimp is fresh, and every dish is bursting with delicious flavors. For the top three tapas, I highly recommend the empanadas (all varieties were amazing), Gambas Anjillos, and it was tough to choose between the skirt steak and the short rib!

Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy, dimly lit, and intimate—ideal for a date night. The portion sizes are perfect for sharing, and the flavors are outstanding, almost criminally so. The octopus was a standout dish and completely changed my perception of it; it truly stole the show. The paella was her favorite, undeniably rich in flavor and savory enough for two.

The tapas were quite good, but I wouldn't say they were the best I've ever had. Some of the dishes lacked flavor. Overall, it was a decent experience.
