Market-tavern Durham

We really liked our visit to the market tavern. really friendly reception and service of james when I went into the bar to order our food and drinks. the food lasted about 10 to 15 minutes to arrive and it was really nice. the only thing I left for me were the chips, they were in order, but I had expected thicker chunkerchips. the pub itself had a great feeling about it, with something real character a real old fashion pub.

Nice friendly bar staff, felt very welcome here. Note a dog bowl out, so they think it is also a dog friendly pub. it's a great old pub I'll visit again.

After the walk around durham we had about all, but on the search for a dog friendly pub we gave it another go when the barman said yes we allow dogs lightening we thought and it turned out to be a great friendly place with nice eating so well done to thank them all.

Great friendly service, very helpful. clean, warm, pub. ale cake and chips worth the money. directly at the market place.

Very welcoming and dog friendly, food was lovely and very responsible in price, we did manage to upset to locals by sitting in there seat near the window but unfortunately we were there first.
