The first time we tried it last year, we had an amazing meal - Sambal Eggplant, Char Kway Teow, and the most delicious Pandan Chicken! We regretted not ordering more. However, since then, the quality of the food hasn't been the same - the Pandan Chicken lacks flavor or is often unavailable. One time, we ordered a lemon chicken that tasted like throat lozenges and was extremely yellow in color. Despite this, we continue to order in hopes that the quality will improve.
We have dined at Royal Malaysian several times now. The menu offers a variety of Malaysian favorites such as Mie Goreng, Laksa, Char Kwai Teow, and Hokkien Mie, as well as typical Chinese dishes. The food is decent, but nothing exceptional - I've tasted more delicious and authentic versions elsewhere. Despite this, we continue to return, so it must not be all bad. Overall, it is affordable and has a cheerful atmosphere.
Called in with family and it appears quite popular as there were many occupied tables. Lahksa was good but the pineapple rice and fish curry were quite underwhelming. Next time I'd try different dishes. Parking is easy and service quick and friendly.
Just had possibly the worst meal tonight. Sweet & sour prawns with the head & tail shells on & very unpleasant tasting prawns. Tasteless black pepper beef. Ordered Chinese tea didn't receive it. No one else in the restaurant now we can see why, as we won't be back there either.
Went here with a group, all enjoyed their meals. Service was excellent and efficient. Overall a nice experience, prices are very good.
