The Shack - East Lyme

This is an excellent spot for all-day breakfast! The beautiful waitress and the fun, nostalgic atmosphere made for a lovely experience. The French toast was absolutely delicious, generously topped with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. The portion of the house special we ordered was more than enough for both of us. Next time I'm in the area, I'd love to try a piece of cake as well— it looked so tempting in the display case!

We visited on Friday morning before 11 AM for breakfast. I ordered the mess, which I normally wouldn’t try since I’m not a fan of paprika, but I decided to go for it anyway. The portion was substantial, with generous cuts of fresh ingredients. My husband had the veggie wrap and added some green pepper to his dish. My meal could easily serve three portions—I'm a big fan of leftovers! He also had cream cheese, which might sound odd, but it was actually quite tasty. All in all, our bill was under $30. I hope to return again soon!

I always enjoy exploring local restaurants when I travel, and this place was an excellent choice for breakfast. I'm quite particular about scrambled eggs and French toast, and what I ordered here exceeded my expectations. Like many local diner-style eateries, the dishes may not be the most Instagram-worthy, but it's definitely worth putting your feed on hold to enjoy breakfast here if you're nearby. Once I was seated, the staff was incredibly attentive, quickly taking my order and bringing me coffee. They made a point of checking in on me despite the restaurant being busy with other patrons. I look forward to returning here whenever I get the chance.

The food was great. The service was friendly and timely. Sausage gravure about agitator, oash brown (with onions), bacon, wheat toast, coffee and water. I added Frank's Hot Sauce on the sausage sword and ketchup on the hash browns.

A great breakfast spot for motorcycle riders about to start a long journey. Absolutely massive portions of great food that kept me full all day! Friendly staff and clearly a popular local destination! The corn bread was THE BEST!
