The Olive Tree Coffee Shop And

We stopped off here for lunch on our trip to the coast. The chap who was by the entrance was welcoming and friendly but that's where it ended. We approached the cafe and the long faced staff weren't welcoming at all. We were asked if we had booked...well obviously not, it's a garden centre. We were then told we could sit outside the main part even though inside was barely full. We decided on a drink as the food was ridiculously priced. Friends had tea which they said was fine but my coffee was awful. On paying my friend was met with a very abrupt member of staff who was rather rude to her. The moral of this story is....don't bother. It's not worth it to be ripped off and to not be made welcome. Maybe if you are local it's different but we shall not be visiting again. We took our business elsewhere on our journey, had.better food, better price and served with smiles etc.

My husband and I went to the garden center to purchase a good trowel and decided to grab a coffee and sandwich. We used to dine at this cafe about 5 or 6 years ago, and it was a favorite of my mother's. However, the ambiance of the cafe/restaurant seems to have changed. We observed a man waiting to be seated near the doorway for over 5 minutes before we encouraged him to move beyond the 'wait to be seated sign,' at which point he was finally acknowledged. We were seated shortly after. The waitress was very friendly, no issues there. Unfortunately, the lunchtime menu was quite dull and the prices were very high for such average food. We were so unimpressed that after looking at the menu, we decided not to stay. In my opinion, there are at least three other cafes in the area that offer better value and more interesting options during the day.

The service at this restaurant was appalling. The staff gave us incorrect information about the specials, and the limited menu options led us to leave after just having drinks. To make matters worse, we were called back to the cafe five minutes after paying because they claimed the note we used was fake. I feel completely deceived, especially since there was no way for me to prove which note I had given them, and it had come from a cash machine the day before. I highly recommend avoiding this place.

The mackerel and salad with tartare sauce were excellent, creating a harmonious blend of exciting flavors. The staff was kind, efficient, and helpful. While not inexpensive, the experience was worth the price. The restaurant was clean, including the restrooms. It was also very child-friendly with lots of smiles. Highly recommended.

This garden centre and cafe are the best I've seen. A beautiful place. The cafe is amazing sells everything from proper meals to afternoon tea we just had cakes and pots of tea the cakes were superb and loads to choose from. I bought a couple off plants here which were reasonably.priced. All I'm all a superb place. Anne walker
