Tables were cleared quickly which doesn’t always happen in busy cafes. Decor is a little dated and it can appear rather gloomy!
Costa Coffee in Penrith town centre is a clean and smart branch of the chain without being particularly special in terms of design or decor. Service was good, as one expects of the brand, as were the coffees.
The staff member was rude serving us and there was a hair in one of our drink we will NOT be going again disgusting treatment
We didn't think this branch of Costa really had much to recommend it. It's a typical Costa to be found in most towns these days serving the same drinks and snacks in a building where the decor is rapidly becoming dated. Now they have been taken over, maybe matters will improve. We accept it was a busy Saturday morning and maybe this branch was short staffed but there didn't seem to be anyone clearing tables and generally the place looked neglected...both inside and out. The coffee was OK...nothing special and could have been hotter. We have to admit, we prefer independent coffee shops of which there are several in Penrith( including a splendid one adjacent to the little car park opposite M&Co) but we were with friends who took us to Costa. Doubt we would visit again.
Worst Costa visited. The decor is so old and tired this costa is crying for an upgrade. No working fridge. Windows were steamed up. Staff were polite but I wouldn't go there again.
