The Orangery - Eden

We enjoyed an overnight stay at the IOTL to celebrate our wedding anniversary after marrying here 2 years before. Everything about this wonderful hotel is superb; the accommodation, the location, the staff, the food and drink, the landscape, the ambience, the comfort, the cleanliness, the new terrace We will be back!

Stunning location unbelievable views of Ullswater. Silver service lunch immaculate. Food was impressively served at a cost. Would recommend as an excellent experience just for the beautiful views and the genteel setting impressive afternoon teas available.

Stunning hotel, should easily be a 5 star establishment. Beautiful 360 views, at the foot of the mountains and just by a large lake with clear water. Staff are very accommodating. We went in as a large group of 40 as a last minute decision and we’re accommodated to private dine. Such an unforgettable day and attentive staff.

We were booked in as part of the wedding party. The place is stunning and could not fault the staff and the food was excellent! The problem I had was travelling up on the day and would have liked some where to get changed. We were requested to arrive by 12 as the ceremony was at 1:00 I emailed the hotel and below is the reply (for rooms that are over £200 per night and we were guest at the wedding) We had a look on line and they actually had rooms free that day “We recommend booking the night before to guarantee you are in the room early in the morning of the wedding. In case your room will not be available before 2.00pm, we can offer the use of the disabled toilet, next to the reception area.” They also emailed us before the date to say we would definitely not be able to check in before 2:00

We called into to Glenridding for a comfort break The Inn on the lake offering its own private parking was a must on a very busy sunny Sunday! The food is expensive but very well presented and the portion sizes reasonable. A very pleasant visit and will definitely call again! We may even take a room next time
