My Mom had her first “Scottish Breakfast” complete with Haggis… her first EVER Haggis! She was apprehensive but pleasantly pleased.
This small bistro is efficient, tasty, and friendly. They serve delicious hot food and drinks and are conveniently located near the Royal Mile road.
My mom and I were standing outside of this cafe, looking at the menu and trying to decide if we should go in, when an elderly tourist couple told us that we had to go in because it was so good. They were right. The manager was incredibly welcoming and seemed to understand my special needs without making a big deal out of it. He suggested we sit in a quiet corner in case the place got busy. He also gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit, including the Museum of Childhood and Calton Hill. Calton Hill was a particularly great suggestion, as it wasn't too crowded and offered beautiful views of the city. The food was delicious. It was our first time trying haggis, so we were a bit nervous, but it turned out to be amazing and much better than black pudding! Thank you for having us and for being so kind and hospitable!
We popped in because our hotel room down the street was not ready. We walked in with all our luggage and they were more than accommodating. I had a lovely panini. My dad had a burger that was just ok. The service was great. They let us stay as long as we needed.
The scones were served with butter and jam… The coffee was steaming hot and I had them add two scoops of sugar and two bloops of milk not cream
