The Abbotsford Bar Restaurant

We could have sat I this bar forever watching the bar manager. His build, his clothes, his mannerisms, the way he walked pulling his shirt sleeves down, it was like watching Basil Fawltey, a great asset to the pub and for people who remember the program. The bar itself was perfect and the staff brilliant. Well worth a visit for the entertainment value.

I was in on Friday night with three of my friends and loved it. Warm, welcoming, excellent service despite being busy. A proper pub. Special mention to the delightful young barman, Matthew. He was polite, efficent and definitely knows how to how to treat the customers well.

My self and a friend called before to check if we could book a table and we were informed that they would be quiet enough for us to just come in. Poor Laddie, when we showed up, seemed somewhat confused, but was good nature and let us take a place. He (my apologies I have never learned should you see that this was so polite and beautiful, which was so cozy with the environment! My friend felt that we were so posh in our red seats and small dining room (it felt so exclusive ~ and to complete it, the food was absolutely excellent. Definitely want a replay and go back soon x

A perfect place for lunch and try out some of the excellent whiskyskeys they store with very helpful staff to help you decide what could suit your wishes.

We had pork chops with mustard sauce, fish and chips and steak/aale cakes (2 people had this). We all thought the portions were excessively generous and the quality was excellent. I should also mention that we started with the smoked salmon app and it was one of the best versions I ever had! Only on the bottom they were out of a dish on the menu that my friends wanted, but in today's supply chain challenged world, not they will hold against them. Great service and great food!!
