Scottish food is not just haggis nor porridge but local ingredients , full-flavour, and homeliness. This restaurant exhibits what Scottish dishes should be without repetitive claims. I had an impressive experience with this restaurant. Despite locating in touristy area, the place is not at all touristy. Original stonewall with early jazz music enchanted the atmosphere. The staffs are all nice and warm. I locally live here as a Thai foodie student. This restaurant shall be one of my frequent choices. It completely suits for dating, welcoming, and family dining. A serendipitous find. Bravo!
I was really impressed by the atmosphere of this restaurant and how welcomed I was made to feel by Paul who gave me some great advice on the menu. Carlos our Chef prepared a super tasty Braised Brisket and the meat was simply perfect! I will definitely return next time I visit Edinburgh.
BEST meal of our trip! And we had many wonderful meals. Finding the entrance, is worth all the effort! You will enjoy this food and atmosphere!
Edinburgh is not in a lack of good restaurants. my partner and I went for Valentine's Day. we have organized a tasting menu. we were not disappointed that eating was amazing, service was first class and the ambiente in the edinburgh old town was an experience to have. I can honestly say it was our best eating experience at all! No wonder that this restaurant has been on the go for almost 30 years.
